The Bear likes to hold the occasional theme night, so far running regular karaoke nights, parties and - just started last month - our fresh acoustic night.

This enables some great artists to show us what they've got, and our first one back in February was a huge success - so much so that we'll now be holding them every six weeks!



Comic Relief Quiz

On March 18th we held a special Sunday quiz for Comic Relief. This quiz was quite different than anything else we have done before...

The theme of this quiz was "Walt Disney" and attracted an amazing 26 teams. All the entry money was given to Comic Relief, and two of our regulars agreed to be waxed on various parts of their body... might I had that "Kenny Bear" was in some pain!!!

But with the quiz and the waxing, we managed to raise £150.

We also donated all the takings from the pool table on Sunday, which raised £63.50.

But the main event for the day was Tora, one of The Bear's owners, agreeing to shave her head. Well, in doing this she got pledges of £1067.82... which gives a grand total of £1281.32 being donated to Comic Relief. So if you pledged to Tora, please could you hand in the money as soon as possible...
